Refqa Abu-Remaileh is Associate Professor in Residence in the Liberal Arts Program at Northwestern University in Qatar, specializing in modern Arabic literature with a focus on Palestinian literary history and cultural production. She is the author of Country of Words: A Transnational Atlas for Palestinian Literature (Stanford University Press, 2023). She was previously Associate Professor of Modern Arabic Literature and Film at the Freie Universität Berlin and Principal Investigator of the European Research Council project PalREAD – Country of Words (2018–2023). She received her MSt and DPhil in Modern Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Oxford.
