Dyala Hamzah is an associate professor of Arab History at the University of Montreal. She is the editor of The Making of the Arab Intellectual (Routledge, 2013), and author of the forthcoming Muhammad Rashid Rida ou le Tournant Salafiste (CNRS Éditions). Dyala has published with Princeton and Oxford University Presses, as well as in academic journals including CSAAME, REMMM and Égypte-Monde Arabe. She recently contributed book chapters to Diana Allan’s Voices of the Nakba (Pluto Press, 2021) and S. Mervin and A. Jomier’s Savants Musulmans du Maghreb (Diacritiques, 2023). She is currently conducting a project on Mandate Palestine and Arab Nationalism. A member of the Palestinian Canadian Academics and Artists Network (PCAAN) and an activist with Faculty4Palestine, she recently cofounded the Montreal-based not-for-profit Maison Palestine.
