Al-Shabaka: The Palestinian Policy Network, in partnership with the Ibrahim Abu-Lughod Institute of International Studies at Birzeit University, invites you to join the “South-South Solidarity and Resistance to Imperialism” conference, taking place on October 27–28, 2026, at the University of Birzeit campus (Hall 243 – Law Annex Building).

The conference welcomes academic researchers, cultural and political actors, civil society organizers, and activists interested in liberation struggles in Palestine and the Global South.

If you wish to attend in person, please confirm your attendance by filling out this form.

The conference will also be hosted online via Zoom and sessions will be livestreamed through Al- Shabaka and Birzeit University social media platforms.

Amid the Israeli regime’s ongoing genocide and colonial assault across Palestine, this conference provides a space for interdisciplinary discussions on contemporary imperial structures, highlighting experiences of resistance and transcontinental solidarity. It provides a forum to explore ways to strengthen solidarity networks among peoples from and in support of Palestine, as well as other struggles for liberation and justice worldwide.

It is organized around four themes: the historical foundations of colonialism and its contemporary manifestations; solidarity movements and grassroots resistance; imperial crimes and international law; and economic justice and resource sovereignty.

You can find the program in Arabic here and in English here.

Simultaneous interpretation between Arabic and English will be provided throughout the conference.

We look forward to your participation.

Al-Shabaka: The Palestinian Policy Network and the Ibrahim Abu-Lughod Institute of International Studies.
