Rashid Khalidi is the Edward Said Professor Emeritus of Modern Arab Studies at Columbia University and president and chair of the Institute for Palestine Studies (USA). He is past president of the Middle East Studies Association and was an adviser to the Palestinian delegation to the 1991–1993 peace negotiations. His books include The Hundred Years’ War on Palestine (2020), Brokers of Deceit: How the US has Undermined Peace in the Middle East (2013), The Iron Cage: The Story of the Palestinian Struggle for Statehood (2006), and Palestinian Identity: The Construction of Modern National Consciousness (1997). He is co-editor of the Journal of Palestine Studies.
