Al-Shabaka ranks among the world’s best think tank networks for the fifth consecutive year, according to the 2017 Global Go To Think Tank Index report.
Placing 36th out of 85 think tanks in the “Best Think Tank Network” category, Al-Shabaka surpasses such reputable institutions as the International Relations and Security Network (ISN) (Switzerland), CIDOB, Barcelona (Spain), and Transparency International (TI) (Germany).
This year’s placement is particularly notable as nearly 1,000 new think tanks were included in the Global Think Tank Database in 2017. Al-Shabaka is one of only two think tanks in this year’s Best Network category that specifically represents issues of concern to the Arab world.
Executive Director Nadia Hijab says, “This year’s ranking validates our efforts to establish Al-Shabaka as the only global Palestinian think tank. We could not have achieved it without the rigorous analysis provided by our nearly 200 Palestinian policy analysts and all the generous individuals and organizations that have believed in and supported our work.”
The index is published by the University of Pennsylvania’s Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program. Al-Shabaka also contributes to the compilation of the Index by nominating new think tanks and participating in the overall ranking of other think tanks around the world.
Al-Shabaka thanks all the generous individuals and organizations that have believed in and supported its work.
